Hello

I live in Tomah, Wisconsin in a beautiful 4500 square foot house. My wife and I own and run Deer Path Integrated Living, Inc., a residential system for adults with severe and persistent mental illness and substance use disorder. Although it is challenging, I love it. I have been in this field for over 20 years.

My Story

I have a Bachelors degree (BBA in Organizational Management), a Masters degree (MBA in Health Care Administration), and an Education Specialist degree (EdS in Adult Education), and a Doctoral degree (PsyD in Health & Wellness).

I have completed many courses and have several certifications some of which include: assessment and treatment of mood disorders; handling difficult situations and behaviors; addiction signs and symptoms; dual disorders; dialectical behavior therapy; anxiety and panic disorders; effective therapeutic responses to personality disordered behaviors; non-violent crisis physical intervention, professional and online education, and applied research in education.

In addition, I am a Human Services-Board Certified Practitioner (HS-BCP).  I coordinate staff training in the assisted living industry as required by the Wisconsin Administrative Code, I am a certified instructor in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, and I am certified to teach CPR/First Aid/AED.  I am a member of the American Psychological Association, National Organization for Human Services, American Counseling Association, National Alliance on Mental Illness, American Association for Adult and Continuing Education, and Crisis Prevention Institute.

We have a beautiful 23-year-old daughter, Merceydeis, and two furry children… both of them rescue animals. I love spending time with my family, and in my spare time (which I have very little of), I enjoy scrapbooking, paper crafting, reading (avidly), volunteering, and researching.
